Gertler & Wente designs 6,500 s/f I.T. Center for Trinity Real Estate

The architectural firm Gertler & Wente (G&W) has completed work on an expanded and upgraded 20-person I.T. center at Trinity Real Estate's headquarters building, One Hudson Square, according to Jeff Gertler, a partner in G&W. Comprising 6,500 s/f of the ground floor of the building, the project entails: a data center with full back-up HVAC, electrical and fire protection; an office suite focused on a large open area; and a training center. "While not large, this I.T. center is vital to Trinity," said Gertler. "It houses extremely important data that are essential to Trinity's ongoing real estate operations." The space was especially challenging to design, he points out. "Not having available space on the same floor as their headquarters, the closest and most 'practically' adjacent space was on the floor below, in an under-used storage area and loading dock," he said. The entire space, which is directly below Trinity Real Estate's main executive suite, also has its own private street entrance. Jason Pizer, vice president of leasing at Trinity Real Estate said, "We at Trinity have had a long and wonderful history in working with Gertler & Wente Architects. G&W was a tenant of ours years ago, and they have done a lot of good work with us since then."
