Brooklyn, NY Two Trees Management Co. said that dinnerware, glassware, and home goods retailer Fishs Eddy will open at 81 Front St. in DUMBO this fall.
Fishs Eddy’s new 3,800 s/f store will mark an extension of its recognized Manhattan flagship, ideally located and designed to draw both locals and visitors alike. Comparable in size to the original, the location will feature a mix of vintage finds, one-of-a-kind pieces, and signature Fishs Eddy products.
“Brooklyn’s been in our DNA forever. Some of our most iconic patterns have Brooklyn brownstones and the bridge. So moving to Brooklyn was just a matter of time. Of course, we’re fashionably late, but that’s how New Yorkers roll!” said Julie Gaines, founder of Fishs Eddy.
“Opening a store in DUMBO was a no-brainer for us,” said Daniel Yadgard, CEO of Fishs Eddy. “This prime address attracts a similar mix of locals and visitors that has made our Manhattan flagship successful, and there’s a sense of vibrancy and energy in this neighborhood that’s unmatched. Two Trees truly understands how to cultivate a creative and dynamic environment, which aligns perfectly with our brand, and we look forward to welcoming the DUMBO community to our new store.”
Fishs Eddy’s new location will carry an expansive and eclectic selection of dishware, reflecting the brand’s signature blend of practicality and personality. The store will be stocked with everyday staples like ceramic mugs, dinner plates, and mixing bowls, many featuring witty sayings, vintage-inspired patterns, or iconic New York City motifs. Shoppers will also find the quirky and unexpected items for which Fishs Eddy is beloved: shot glasses, butter dishes shaped like landmarks, oversized serving platters featuring political satire, and glassware adorned with illustrations and retro diner logos.
“Fishs Eddy’s decision to grow in DUMBO speaks to the neighborhood’s continued evolution and its allure for those who value creativity, design, and a strong sense of community. This deal is a perfect match between a beloved New York brand and a district that thrives on character and authenticity,” said Alyssa Zahler, managing director of commercial leasing at Two Trees, who facilitated the lease in-house.
The Fishs Eddy opening will come as DUMBO continues to gain momentum as New York City’s new design district; the small waterfront area is now home to more than 150 design firms and studios. Its community blends global and local talent, with architecture giants like Snøhetta and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) alongside designers such as Zeynep Arolat and Mark Jupiter, whose work embodies DUMBO’s hand-crafted, collaborative spirit. Fishs Eddy joins a retail scene evolving in step with this creative energy, featuring a growing mix of design-focused retailers like Reform, Hudson Wilder, and Henrybuilt, as well as concept-driven shops such as L’Ensemble, which just relocated to a new storefront, and Alo Yoga, which recently debuted its first Brooklyn outpost.
Fishs Eddy will be open daily from 10:00am-8:00pm.
