First 2014 NYSCAR board meeting to be held February 9th in Albany

By John Lavelle Happy New Year! The first NYSCAR board meeting for 2014 will take place Sunday, February 9th at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY. I am looking forward to a great meeting to kick off the year! If you would like to serve on a NYSCAR committee, please be sure to return your committee request form as soon as possible. Your input is important to our organization, so please consider volunteering on one or more of the committees which include standard forms, education, grievance, long range planning and technology. Many thanks to Mike Johnson, NYSCAR president (2012 and 2013) for his leadership and untiring efforts on behalf of NYSCAR. We look forward to Mike's continued support and dedication as he continues to serve on the NYSCAR executive committee this year. The Annual Conference Committee has been off to a great start planning the 2014 Annual Conference June 2nd - 4th at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY. Preliminary plans include a CCIM course offering, a full-day marketing/networking session and several commercial education offerings. Please be sure to mark this in your calendar and plan to attend. This is a great opportunity to do some business. I'd also like to invite you to attend the Annual Education/Marketing event sponsored by NYSCAR and the Hudson Valley Chapter, April 2nd - 3rd, at the Hyatt House, Fishkill, NY. This is another opportunity for commercial education and great networking. If you need to take the REALTOR Code of Ethics course, please take advantage of the following offerings around the state which are sponsored by the NYS Association of REALTORS, instructed by Patrick Reilly, NYSAR VP board and member services. Gain a full understanding of ethics and arbitration hearings, enforcement procedures and disciplinary guidelines during the 2014 Code of Ethics and Professional Standards Procedures Training. The Code of Ethics and recent changes adopted by NAR's board of directors and delegate body will also be covered.
