Cubellis, an international architectural, interior design and engineering firm, was the architect of record for Coalesse, a premium live/work furnishings brand, that was recently awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for its showroom in The Merchandise Mart.
The showroom was awarded the certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, an organization dedicated to sustainable building design and construction. The LEED Green Building Rating System encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
Stewardship of the environment has long been a part of Cubellis' design philosophy and the project team took a proactive role in the "greening" process for the 22,000 s/f Coalesse showroom located in The Merchandise Mart.
