Hoboken, NJ Charter Realty is driving significant leasing momentum at Southend Hoboken (38 Jackson St.), a new, distinctive mixed-use development. The project combines 110 residential condominium homes, known as Southend Lofts, 50,000 s/f of commercial space, and 50,000 s/f of ground-floor retail, creating a live-work-play environment in one of the region’s fastest-growing neighborhoods. Condominium sales have officially launched, and initial occupancy is expected later this year.

Positioned to serve Lower Hoboken, Southend Hoboken is surrounded by thousands of new residential units currently under construction or approved within a half-mile radius. The project’s carefully planned mix of residential, retail, and commercial uses is designed to activate the southern edge of Hoboken and deliver much-needed amenities to the community.

Charter Realty represented the landlord, The Taurasi Group, in securing several key leases that will anchor and energize the project. These include a 25,100 s/f full-service fitness facility; a 12,500 s/f supermarket bringing grocery options to an underserved area; Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings, a 3,700 s/f Chinese eatery with seven locations and four more on the way; and Under Pressure Espresso Bar, a 2,223 s/f craft coffee concept and Greek Kitchen. An additional 24,285 s/f anchor tenant is expected to be announced in the near-term, further solidifying the project’s position as a premier destination for retail, fitness, dining, and everyday services in Hoboken. The project is now 72% pre-leased. Charter’s Scott Edlitz was instrumental in driving this leasing activity.

“These exciting tenants represent the foundation of what will become one of the area’s most dynamic community hubs,” said Daniel Zelson, principal of Charter Realty. “Introducing a supermarket and a state-of-the-art fitness center fills two long-standing gaps in the neighborhood’s retail landscape and sets the stage for what residents can look forward to at Southend Hoboken.

“Retail and residential work hand in hand at Southend Hoboken - the energy of new shops, restaurants, and services enhances livability, while the growing residential base fuels retail success,” said Zelson.
