Coral Springs, FL Habitat for Humanity of Broward and BBX Capital Inc. marked a milestone with an additional contribution of $150,000 from BBX Capital. The funds will further propel the construction efforts of the new Coral Springs Community development by Habitat Broward and will fund a home for a Habitat family.
The ceremony, held on site at the development, brought together figures from both organizations, highlighting the collaborative spirit that has fueled their joint mission. On site were Alan Levan, chairman of BBX Capital; Jarett Levan, president/CEO of BBX Capital; Nancy Robin, CEO of Habitat Broward; Marcia Barry-Smith, board member of BBX Capital; Seth Wise, EVP of BBX Capital; Lois Marino, executive director of BBX Capital Foundation along with Habitat Broward staff, supporters and volunteers.
This additional contribution underscores BBX Capital’s unwavering dedication to addressing the critical need for affordable housing in the community. The funds will directly support the construction of homes within the Coral Springs Community Project, enriching the lives of local families and fostering a stronger, more resilient community. For decades, BBX Capital, Inc. has been steadfast in its support of Habitat for Humanity and has prioritized affordable housing as a fundamental pillar of support for the company. In pursuit of this mission, Levan alongside Wise recently established Altman Living to respond to the increasing demand for affordable housing in our communities. Altman Living focuses on offering properties that are accessible and affordable to individuals and families across the economic spectrum.
Robin said “This remarkable partnership with BBX Capital exemplifies the power of businesses coming together to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our neighbors. With this generous contribution, we are one step closer to realizing our vision of a thriving, inclusive community where everyone has a decent and affordable place to call home.”
Levan said, “BBX and our family of companies are excited to support Habitat once again with this new project in Coral Springs – the new townhouse development. This is our 55th home that our family of companies have donated and handed over keys to homeowners. Every home is special, this is the first in Coral Springs, so it makes it even more special, we are just thrilled to be a part of it.”
The Coral Springs 13-townhome community completion is expected by late 2024. This project is a part of Habitat Broward’s goal to tackle $20 million in construction by building 60 much-needed affordable homes in Broward County.
