Alvarez of SD Urban Retail leases 4,000 s/f to Sherwin Williams at The Shops on Broadway

Bronx, NY SD Urban Retail, a Manhattan-based owner and developer, has executed a lease with Sherwin-Williams at its shopping center, The Shops on Broadway, located at 5740 Broadway. Sherwin-Williams will occupy 4,000 s/f of SD Urban Retail’s newly constructed shopping center comprised of 24,000 s/f of ground-floor retail with 86 parking spaces, 14-ft. ceiling heights, and 240 ft. of frontage. Sherwin-Williams is expected to open in Q1 of 2019 and will offer a variety of paints, stains, colors, and supplies in addition to protective coatings and product finishes.

“We are excited to welcome a high-caliber national tenant like Sherwin-Williams to our center,” said Daniel Alvarez of SD Urban Retail, who in-house represented the landlord. “They are satisfying a major need in the neighborhood and will draw significant activity to the center.”

Sherwin-Williams is joining a mix of tenants at The Shops on Broadway, including FedEx Office, Victoria’s Nails & Spa, and Kabuki Asian Bistro & Hibachi. Victoria’s and Kabuki are strong regional operators with eight locations each, and they are both scheduled to open their stores in the fourth quarter of this year.

The signing of Sherwin-Williams brings the center to over 70% occupancy and leaves only 8,000 s/f left to lease at the center.
