ACEC New York Wins ESSAE Association Excellence Award

Albany, NY According to the American Council of Engineering Cos. of New York, (ACEC New York) the association has won the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE) 2019 Association Excellence Award for Meetings & Expositions for the 2019 Winter Conference. 

This award honors excellence in association meeting, convention and/or exposition marketing and execution, including innovative themes, new meeting formats, promotional materials, special events, marketing plans that yield high attendance, etc.

ACEC New York nominated the 2019 Winter Conference, the premier business event of the ACEC New York calendar, the theme of which was Engineering Safety and Security. The 2019 conference was held on January 27-29 at the Albany Capital Center. This event featured a number of changes and improvements, including a dedicated track for HR personnel, new sponsorship opportunities, and a new mobile app. In 2019, the conference had record attendance, with over 400 attendees and 23 exhibitor booths.

“As ACEC New York continues to grow and improve in every sector, we are all exceptionally proud of our flagship event, the Winter Conference, and 2019 was our best year yet,” said Gina Potfora, CMP, vice president of member services. “This event was made possible by all the hard work and dedication of our staff and volunteers. We look forward to continuing to grow and improve this conference in the future.”

Potfora will be accepting the award on behalf of ACEC New York at the ESSAE Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet, which will take place on February 6, 2020 at the Hilton Albany.

ACEC New York is a proactive coalition representing nearly 300 member firms who engage in every discipline of engineering related to the built environment including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and geotechnical.
