What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?

In commercial real estate investment sales, attitude and adaptability are crucial. Each day presents new personalities, challenges, and deal dynamics — no two transactions are alike, and the process is rarely linear. Brokers manage all stages, from tours and due diligence to contract negotiations and financing. Success requires embracing both the glamorous and less visible tasks with a service mindset and the flexibility to pivot as needed in a dynamic environment.

What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate?

In commercial real estate — whether in acquisitions, development, brokerage, leasing, or lending — the skills and market knowledge you gain are highly transferable. Career mobility is driven more by relationships than credentials. A strong network is a strategic asset, providing access to off-market deals, mentorship, partnerships, investments, and job referrals. The industry values reputation and connections, often more than a resume. Staying engaged through industry events and associations continuously opens new doors and expands your career opportunities.
