2025 Ones To Watch - Industry Leaders: Thomas Consiglio, Resource Realty of Northern New Jersey

Thomas Consiglio
Principal / Founder
Resource Realty of Northern New Jersey

“Tom’s client-first, relationship-focused approach at Resource Realty of Northern NJ translates directly to the firm’s family-first culture and mentorship. By prioritizing team support and genuine care internally, we naturally extend that same level of dedication and personalized service to our clients and building strong, lasting relationships.” - Scott Peck, Principal, Resource Realty of Northern New Jersey.

Recent goal and impact:

We’ve hit the 35-year anniversary mark, which is no small feat in this business. In 1990, I wanted to create a firm focused on long-term partnerships and institutional-grade market expertise. In short, I didn’t want to build a firm just known for brokering deals. I envisioned something more meaningful beyond transactions. Today, we’re a premier CRE advisory firm across NJ, NY and PA – a milestone fed by the building of lasting relationships, which remains at the core of who we are.

Turning problems into opportunities:

Instead of being ‘landlocked’ by a single geographic focus, we cast a wider net into Rockland/Orange counties when the region was still mostly farmland. We saw opportunity 20 years ago, but we knew development interest would take time and patience before it took root. Transactions on behalf of Amscan and 2+MSF in leases/sales followed, establishing us as the ‘broker of choice’ in Southern NY State, now home to an influx of new industrial/warehouse/flex-space developments.

Best advice for new leaders: Communication is essential because people will only do business with those they like and trust.
