Impact Highlight: Describe a recent program, initiative, or process implemented by you and the impact on your firm, organization, or community. I led the integration of subsurface utility mapping into the design phase of projects, shifting utility detection from construction to planning. Using ASCE 38-22 standards, electromagnetic induction, and ground-penetrating radar, we identify underground conflicts early, cutting costs, improving safety, and preventing delays. What began as a niche service is now a best practice across BL Companies.

Corporate Culture: How does your organization foster a culture of innovation among employees and leadership? Innovation is built into BL Companies’ culture. Employees at every level are encouraged to explore new tools and share ideas that improve our work. In my department, that means testing the latest locating and radar technologies for greater accuracy and efficiency. As a 100% employee-owned firm, everyone has a stake in our success and a shared drive to keep innovating.
