Mechanical Technical Manager
Henderson Engineers

“The New York City Department of Buildings selected Al as a member of its Construction Codes Revision Mechanical, HVAC & Boiler Technical Committee. How do you balance your rising career with your personal life? Work-life balance is crucial since I became a dad in 2023, making my personal life much busier. Henderson Engineers is a flexible workplace, so I’ve transitioned into fatherhood without sacrificing professionally. Our industry has also embraced virtual collaboration since the pandemic, making it easier to maintain an equilibrium.

Beyond your professional achievements, what are some of your passions or hobbies? I love to build things, which is why I was attracted to engineering. I’ve always been a tinkerer and enjoy everything from LEGOs to home improvement projects. My wife and I recently bought a house, so it’s been fun being very hands on with our renovations.

Who are the key people in your life that have contributed to your success? I’m inspired by my grandfather, who began his career as a carpenter before immigrating to the United States and is one of the hardest working people I know. Along with my parents, his perseverance has been a shining example of what it takes to be successful.

Outside of your career, where else do you seek continuous learning and personal growth? The experiences I have with my loved ones, especially my wife and our son. My roles as a husband and a father have given me a deeper understanding of people and an appreciation for the most important things in life. I’m consistently learning and adapting as a person.
