In the last 12 months what was one of the biggest challenges you faced as a leader and how did you overcome it? One recent challenge I faced as a leader has been a multi-faceted deal that also highlights the beauty that is New York City and its multinational landscape. With stakeholders from America, Ukraine, Israel, Pakistan, Japan, and myself being Irish, there were significant differences in customs, attitudes, and processes. My role was to lead everyone to a mutually agreed closing table, requiring a deep understanding of each culture’s nuances. 

Best advice for new leaders: Learn to listen, have empathy, specialize, and then execute.

In the last 12 months what accomplishment are you most proud of? I successfully oversaw, prepared, and closed on the sale of a two-building package, exclusively hired by a state-appointed Guardianship of Florida. It was an extremely intricate situation that required vast expertise and management. This involved direct oversight and advising through relationships, experienced professionals including DHCR & rent regulation attorneys, landlord and tenant attorneys, violation & compliance consultants, an architect, and a general contractor, ultimately optimizing the properties’ marketability and sale potential.
