What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2023? The East Midtown Greenway, nearing completion, is a leading example of resilient and sustainable construction. A standout in our NY portfolio, the project will enhance waterfront access and open community green space, utilizing engineered soil in Silva Cells to collect stormwater and support the growth of newly planted trees.

What emerging trends will drive investment and development in 2024? Interest in sustainable, net-zero structures is gaining momentum among clients and elected officials, and the construction industry is a driving force behind achieving these goals. Trends such as geothermal energy utilization, adaptive reuse, and heightened interest in resilient materials will continue to be prominent in project design and development.

What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year? Despite market conditions, the largest and most prominent healthcare providers in New York are aiming to expand existing facilities and explore new locations and avenues for growth. Given this, healthcare has been an influential trend, representing a resilient area of opportunity for construction and development firms with premium project starts.
